FAQ

Is mobile massage as good as going to a studio?

Honestly? For most people, it's better. When you're in your own space — your home, your gym, your yard — your nervous system is already relaxed before we even start. That means we get deeper, faster. You're not commuting, not waiting in a lobby, and not trying to decompress in a room you've never been in. We bring everything we need. You just show up.

What should I expect my first time?

Before we start, we'll do a quick check-in — where you're holding tension, what your goals are, any injuries or areas to avoid. From there, we get to work. Deep tissue massage is not a passive experience. Pressure will be real. You can and should communicate throughout the session — too much, not enough, focus here more. At the end, you'll likely feel a mix of relieved and worked. Drink water. Give your body 24 hours to respond. Most people feel significantly better the next day.

How do I know which session length is right for me?

If you've never had bodywork with us before, start with a 60-minute session to get a feel for the work and how your body responds. If you train hard, have chronic tension in multiple areas, or haven't had a massage in months — book the 90. The extra time isn't filler. It's the difference between covering ground and actually fixing something. The 30-minute spot treatment is best when you already know exactly what needs attention.

Will my website be mobile-friendly?

Absolutely! We design responsive websites that look great and function seamlessly across all devices, including mobile and tablets.

What is Body Tempering and is it painful?

Body Tempering uses heavy steel cylinders that are rolled slowly across muscles and connective tissue. The sustained pressure is firm and intentional — it's not painful in a sharp way, but it's not a light touch either. Most people describe it as a deep, satisfying pressure that releases tension they didn't even know they were holding. If you've plateaued with traditional massage or foam rolling, this is a different tool entirely.

What's the difference between deep tissue massage and Advanced Muscle Reconstruction (AMR)?

Deep tissue massage uses sustained pressure and slow strokes to reach the deeper layers of muscle and fascia — breaking up tension, improving circulation, and relieving chronic muscle tightness. Advanced Muscle Reconstruction (AMR) goes further. It's a more systematic, targeted approach to identifying and correcting muscle dysfunction — working through specific patterns of restriction, adhesion, and compensation that develop over time from training, injury, or repetitive movement. If deep tissue is maintenance, AMR is repair work. Most sessions incorporate elements of both based on what your body needs.

Do you work on people that aren't athletes?

Absolutely. We specialize in high-demand bodies — but that includes anyone who uses their body hard. Trades workers, nurses, parents chasing toddlers, people with desk jobs carrying years of tension. If your body is carrying stress, strain, or pain, Dark Horse can help. You don't need to have a PR to deserve good bodywork.
